Medicaid/MediPass is a federal and state government assistance program which covers the cost of medications and other medical services for patients with AIDS.

If you are eligible for Florida Medicaid, you will be enrolled in a Medicaid managed care program known as MediPass and will be assigned a MediPass Provider. All MediPass enrollees receive a letter from the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) informing them to choose a MediPass Provider. In order for you to receive care at MCHD EIS clinics and receive referrals to other medical providers, it is necessary for you to choose the Monroe County Health Department (MCHD) as your MediPass Primary Care Provider. Referrals to other physicians, hospital admissions, emergency visits, or diagnostic testing require authorization by your MediPass Provider. Someone is on call 24 hours a day,7 days a week to give MediPass authorizations. Regardless of the physician who sees you in the EIS program, your MediPass Provider is the Monroe County Health Department.
